I think you guys did a great job. I’m sure you’ve had comments about the undercarriage. Those components/plumbing are extremely vulnerable when going off road. Have you figured out a work around for that setup?

First. You need double the amount of teeth. You should be up near 150 teeth. You put a 2x4 in front and on top and it will cut like butter. The reason it jumped wad because you have 70 teeth

Don't need any grinding disk with aluminum. A litre saw with correct blade is the best option.

I am living off grid in S Utah at the moment and so it’s challenging to get info with my smartphone. Ideally I would like to find 1/4x20 button head screws and t nuts in stainless steel. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same heater and I installed mine outside. Since I don't use the hot water spigot on my washing machine I am using that to back feed hot water to the rest of the house. I put a Y on the cold side to hook both the washing machine and water heater on the same spigot. The hot input on the washing machine is plugged. This hookup is good during and after a hurricane when no electricity is available. Since I have city water I can take a hot shower. The hangover from the roof keeps the rain out of the top of the water heater. The hoses are run outside beside the window AC unit. To do a more permanent install I would drill through the block. Also I use the washing machine hoses for hook up. I had too many supply lines burst. 73

One problem you don't cover the bottom of the vent when using natural or propane gas. If you ever looked at a gas water hester's chimney you will see it's open on the bottom of the flu. It's the same on gas furnaces as well. I do like that vent. 73

You should have taken advantage of the "machining option" Tnutz has on the extrusion you chose page. And that woukd have also helped you with your "screws," aka bolts, difficulties. 😂

Hint- order a 1 inch piece of each extrusion profile you want to use and take that "sample" to the local hardware store to confirm the fit of your needed fasteners.

Carriage bolts do, indeed WORK. But there is a caveat. You need to find the bolt head that will fit in the channel of the extrusion. At the same time, it needs to have the square neck small enough to not get stuck. And since it is a round head, the neck is what will keep it from spinning when you go to secure the bolt with a nut. I had a lathe to shrink the bolt head. You could also use an angle grinder and put two flats on the head.

My favorites: cabinets, power tower, layout, air/heat split and the awesome bed.

A very nice design. To refine it you could install simple magnetic switches as up and down limit-switches and connect them with a DPDT toggle switch so you don't need to babysit the bed when it's moving.

Urine only toilet is an interesting difference I see from other builds, but I haven't seen too many. Seems like an optimal choice for certain types of travel. It seems like RVs really are money pits and build outs like this is a huge money saver. I'd probably accept a cheaper alternative to some of the options, like a simple way to bucket bathe with a basin and possibly a low shower curtain for it. I can get by with less space and items than a lot of people do.
